That idea was born in Hirschau, Germany in the summer of 1991. Becoming official in the "graffiti scene" in 2006, DEJAVU didn't want to debut just anywhere. Now living in Springfield, he wants to celebrate the heart of downtown... "It's just so full of life... Especially at night; when I come out of hiding". He has a European style mingled with the abstracted "less is more" style... DEJAVU uses Montana spray paint, Sharpies, Prismacolor markers, acid free paper and of course... walls... Since it would of been rather difficult to bring any walls to this showcase, all of the pieces in this show were done especially for this show... ... Fresh, just for Good Girl Art... May 2013 only."
Good Girl Art presents a second artist for the month of May, Kala Rackley with a show titled, REMNANTS.
"My work is largely about the lasting effects that cruelty between human beings leaves imprinted for a lifetime. Though engaging these topics in my art is cathartic for me—and has given me a conduit to working with my own demons—I have also discovered a path that leads to opening communication with others about difficult and oft-taboo topics."
Good Girl Art presents artist, Melissa Marrs with a show titled, Girl In Trouble Is A Temporary Thing: Dog Park to Ruins for the month of April.
"I see ruins as remnants of where we have been or what became of us or the future. Ruins are not bad or good. Ruins are ruins. You know it when you experience it. I traveled to a city in The Levant in November which is recovering from civil war and other regional wars ever looming to spill over. I witnessed modern day ruins as a wake up call of what a ruin can invoke. I have attempted to paint what I saw. These paintings represent my recent past."

PER[your]VERSION: Le Miroir Noir, held up to each of us, reveals the true reason for our society's "unhealthy obsession" with fantasized, high-gloss sex, over-the-top violence, and 'insanity' that appeals to nearly every individual on one level or another: the complete freedom to do what we wish, regardless of others or consequences. These 'perversions', in fact, are a perfectly natural outlet, distancing ourselves from these avatars of the darker angels of our truer nature by permitting ourselves the lucid dream that has become our pornography, our tales of vengeance, justice, and death. By labeling these avatars 'aberrant', we protect our carefully constructed image that we are all normal and fit into one of society's approved categories.

Good Girl Art presents "My Imaginary Friends" by William Harmon for the month of December. “My Imaginary Friends” showcases a continuing theme of blending fantasy and reality. William is influenced from many sources. Among them, Latin American art, particularly the paintings of Frida Kahlo. Children’s literature, traditional quilting and needlework and Mexican artist Sergio Bustemante. In his own words, “I hope my art provides a certain sense of nostalgia, a narrative quality and yes, a sense of whimsy.”
Good Girl Art presents "In the Hollow" by artist, Ashley Byers for the month of November. This show focuses on the artist's close relationship with her sister and their childhood experiences with mental illness and divorce in the Ozarks. These moody paintings reflect the artist's memories of her childhood and her struggles in establishing how her past experiences affect her today.
Eric Vaughn with the show titled "Sleepwalk" continues. It's a series that comprises a short story about a broken life, and how art is around us at all times- even if it's only purpose is to sell a product.
Good Girl Art presents assemblages by local artist Donna Rustin for the month of October. The perfect month, by the way, to delve into the macabre and mysterious and sometimes humorous mind of the artist. Donna Rustin's creativity was previously seen at Savant's on Commercial Street, which she owned for a time. The show is titled "Intensely Felt" and was influenced by the artist's own near death experience.
September Art Walk presents a series of prints and drawings by Megan Frauenhoffer in a show titled "Future Ghosts." Megan's art explores emotions that hide between reality and the subconscious.
For the month of August, Good Girl Art welcomes back Wisconsin jewelry artist Ali Kauss with a show titled "Sustenance." Ali's work is unique and hand made, each piece is a reflection of the celebration of life and the natural world.

May Art Walk presents two featured artists: MSU Senior Amy Byrum will be showing her senior exhibition of ink drawings on paper titled "Ode to Dysfunction"and photographer Sarah-Marie Land with a show titled "Mortuary Series."
During the month of April, Good Girl Art is featuring 50 paintings by artist Cindy Pedigo for $50 each. The "Fifty for Fifty" paintings will reflect images of the Ozarks and her experiences growing up and living her entire life here, fifty years. To celebrate turning fifty, the artist will be donating her proceeds to benefit art programs for under served children through Community Partnerships.

Kole's show titled META which consists of digital art explores and expresses the realms of the manifested and unmanifested world around us,where the two exist as one. The show will be accompanied by laser lights and DJ Johan will be playing some special synthesized sounds .

September Art Walk presents, Nate Ferree with his show titled "A Monument To The Pirate Robot Who Saved The People Of Earth."
Nate's exhibit in fired clay, includes a 6 ft. ceramic robot, and a series of story tiles that reveal the story referenced in the title.

The "Artists Coming Together" fundraiser for Joplin artist and Good Girl Art artist Martha Goldman, who lost her home in the tornado was held on August fifth. We would like to thank all of you who came out to support the event by purchasing artwork or donating. Over twenty artists donated their work for the cause, the sale will continue throughout the month of August. Please help out if you can.

March Art Walk Presents a series of paintings by artist, Shauna Smith. The paintings establish points of experience, one being a sense of patience or pause. The grace and delicateness of the form balances with the resting space of calm mindful reflection. The palette is warm and earthy. Only that which is necessary is present.
February Art Walk presents two artists, Amy Carroll with her series of photographs entitled, "Flawed" which intends to tell the story of the unfortunate way that we women (and our society) focus on our physical flaws to the point of obsession, and often to the point of poor self-image.
Also showing, Delanie Cooper with her series of drawings entitled "The Locker" in which she uses Rodney Alcala's (who was arrested for killing four women and a twelve year old girl in 1979) style of photography in her artwork, juxtaposing hard charcoal images of the victims with soft backgrounds created from vine charcoal and water colors. This collection was created to give respect to the victims, but also to let the artist explore loss through her artistic abilities.
January Art Walk presents Becca Rutledge's playful and stimulating new body of work called, "Sensual Sects" She invites the viewer to explore our connectedness through the seduction of insects. With color, media and exploration she relates to our condition of moods, feelings and flight.
MSU student, Ashley Byers continues her senior exhibition show through the month of January with her mixed media acrylic paintings in "Cherry Street And The Lone Star State"
